HAPPY NEW YEAR! As 2012 begins I want to extend ‘Happy New Year’ wishes and say ‘Thank You’ for all you have done to support our mission here at OAS.

PD DAY: School will be closed on Monday, January 16 for a PD Day. Classes resume on Tuesday at 8:30 a.m.

SKATING: Dust off your skates and sharpen your blades as skating will begin on Thursday. P.E. sessions will be used for skating when conditions permit. All students should bring skates and helmets every Thursday.

LIBRARY MATERIALS: Parents, please assist your children in managing their borrowed library materials. Some students have outstanding fines and have lost library books. Please pay all outstanding fines so that we can take advantage of the resources the library have to offer.

TIPS FOR LITERACY: Below are 5 tips for family literacy that would help create a life-long love for reading.

  1. Begin reading now

  2. Get out the board games

  3. Read while you’re in the car

  4. Make waiting time, reading time

  5. Involve the whole family in reading

HAPPY BIRTHDAY wishes to Jaiden, (December 26) and Jahzira, (January 9). May you both continue to grow as Jesus did; in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and men.

Happy New Year to all

We wish you the best year you have ever had

May God’s richest blessings be yours
